Procurement Executive

About the role

The Procurement Executive will lead end‑to‑end plant procurement activities, ensuring timely availability of raw materials, spares, packaging, and services at optimal cost and required quality for a chemical, pharmaceutical or food manufacturing facility.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement of plant maintenance, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and utility materials.
• Handle procurement of PPE, safety equipment and packaging materials.
• Oversee shutdown, preventive maintenance and breakdown procurement.
• Obtain RFQs, prepare comparative statements and negotiate price, payment terms, MOQ and delivery schedules.
• Identify, develop, qualify and evaluate vendors; develop alternate/local suppliers for critical items.
• Prepare and process Purchase Orders, monitor open POs, pending deliveries and material shortages.
• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Stores, QA, EHS and Finance.
• Support cost reduction, strategic sourcing, rate contracts and supplier consolidation.
• Maintain procurement MIS covering spend, savings, pending POs, delivery and vendor performance.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, specifications, quality and EHS requirements.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of hands‑on plant procurement experience, preferably in chemical, pharmaceutical or food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of engineering spares, utilities, vendor management and commercial negotiation.
• Experience handling emergency and breakdown procurement.
• Ability to develop and qualify vendors and manage supplier performance.
