Process Expert – Costing & Inventory Valuation

About the role

The Process Expert – Costing & Inventory Valuation will provide specialist support for Book‑to‑Report (B2R) activities, driving process excellence, standardisation and automation across BASF’s finance landscape. You will work within a globally integrated team, ensuring compliance with global accounting standards while supporting the new Global Hub in India.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver end‑to‑end B2R process, technical and business expertise to Service Delivery Units.
• Support transition of new service scopes, adhering to global SOPs, tools and change‑management requirements.
• Design, steer, standardise and continuously improve global Product Costing & Inventory Valuation processes.
• Ensure process consistency and alignment with BASF’s enterprise architecture.
• Own and manage the global service portfolio, including KPIs, controls, compliance requirements and service definitions.
• Drive finance‑system enhancements and automation to increase efficiency and data quality.
• Monitor and report on performance metrics, ensuring adherence to compliance and governance standards.

Required profile

• Strong finance background with proven experience in product costing and inventory valuation.
• Deep understanding of Book‑to‑Report processes and global SOPs.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross‑functional and global teams.
• Proactive attitude towards continuous improvement and process optimisation.
