Principal Technologist – Cloud Software (C#/.NET, Azure)

About the role

The Principal Technologist will lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, cloud‑native software for AVEVA CONNECT. Reporting to product leadership, you will shape architecture, mentor engineers and ensure high‑quality implementation of enterprise solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Owner, stakeholders and Scrum teams to define, design and implement software that meets business and customer needs.
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies – sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand‑ups, reviews and retrospectives.
• Work with Customer Support to troubleshoot and resolve client‑reported issues.
• Write maintainable, test‑covered code and ensure thorough documentation and code reviews.
• Design, implement and validate security controls following industry‑standard cybersecurity practices.
• Drive continuous improvement of engineering processes, standards and product quality.

Required profile

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of technical leadership.
• Proven ability to make architectural decisions balancing scalability, performance, security and maintainability.
• Experience mentoring engineers, conducting design and code reviews, and defining engineering standards.
