Principal Mobile Engineer

About the role

Payoneer is looking for a Principal Mobile Engineer to lead the design, development and scaling of high‑performance mobile applications for its global payments platform. Based in Gurugram, you will shape the mobile experience for millions of users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and scale native Android and iOS applications, ensuring top‑notch performance and reliability.
• Mentor and inspire a team of mobile engineers, sharing expertise in native and cross‑platform frameworks such as Flutter, React Native, and Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Set standards for app performance, reliability and user experience, monitoring metrics like start‑up time, frozen frames and app size.
• Collaborate closely with product, design and backend teams to deliver innovative features.
• Stay ahead of mobile technology trends and influence architectural decisions across the mobile domain.

Required profile

• 9+ years of professional mobile development experience with strong hands‑on expertise in Android or iOS.
• Deep knowledge of at least one cross‑platform framework (Flutter, React Native or Kotlin Multiplatform).
• Solid understanding of mobile fundamentals such as memory management, threading, app lifecycle and UI performance optimization.
• Passion for measuring and improving performance metrics.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to mentor and grow the team.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and code‑quality practices is a plus.
