Principal Engineer I, BI & Analytics

About the role

Invesco is seeking a Principal Engineer I to join its global Business Intelligence & Analytics team within Technology & Operations. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining a Microsoft SQL data mart that provides actionable insights for senior leaders across the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust database solutions, including T‑SQL tables, stored procedures, views, and functions.
• Build and optimize data models that support Business Intelligence and self‑service reporting.
• Write complex, efficient SQL queries following best practices.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from diverse sources.
• Ensure data availability, reliability, and accessibility, and promptly address any data import issues.
• Collaborate with Business Intelligence, business, and technology partners to ensure consistency of data services.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing MS SQL data marts and related T‑SQL objects.
• Strong background in data modeling for analytics and reporting.
• Hands‑on experience designing and operating ETL/ELT processes.
• Ability to work within a small team and partner with cross‑functional stakeholders.
