Principal Electrical Design Engineer – HV/LV Systems (Mining)

About the role

Lead technical delivery of complex electrical engineering work packages for mining projects, covering study, design, construction and commissioning phases.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight for HV and LV power systems, substations, distribution networks and mine infrastructure.
• Develop and review design criteria, calculations, studies, specifications, datasheets and engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including process, mechanical, civil, structural, controls and commissioning.
• Establish checking, verification and technical assurance approaches to ensure compliance with project and AECOM quality standards.
• Support project planning, estimates, resource forecasting, risk identification and technical decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 years of electrical engineering experience in mining, resources, industrial or energy projects.
• Proven consulting or EPCM experience with ability to lead multidisciplinary delivery.
• Professional fluency in written and spoken English.
