Principal Data Steward – Investments Data Office

About the role

The Principal Data Steward will lead day‑to‑day stewardship of master data within the Investments Data Office. This hands‑on role ensures that critical business information is accurate, trusted, and ready for use across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily stewardship activities for assigned master data domains, guaranteeing data accuracy and availability.
• Partner with Data Product Owners, Governance teams, architects, and technology groups to define priorities, data quality rules, SLAs, and remediation workflows.
• Define, standardize, measure and monitor data quality metrics; create dashboards and reports that surface data health.
• Maintain critical data elements, definitions, metadata, data dictionaries and field‑level guidance.
• Perform data profiling, cleansing, mapping, trend analysis, root‑cause analysis and issue triage.
• Research and resolve complex data issues using knowledge of data, systems and business processes.
• Support master data management implementation, workflow design, rule definition and integration activities.
• Use SQL, Excel and analytical tools to query data, identify trends and deliver actionable insights.
• Recommend process and technology improvements to increase efficiency, automation and control.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of experience in data management, data stewardship, master data management or data governance.
• Proven ability to work through ambiguity and translate business needs into data requirements.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in data profiling, cleansing and quality monitoring.
• Experience collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders including product owners, architects and technology teams.
