Principal Data Scientist

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to design, build, and operationalize predictive and prescriptive models that power intelligent HR workflows at global scale. You will work at the intersection of advanced analytics, applied AI, and HR domain expertise to create trustworthy, actionable intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operationalize predictive models that generate signals, features, and recommendations for both intelligent systems and human users.
• Embed predictive intelligence into products, platforms, and processes, ensuring models are deployed, monitored, and continuously improved in production.
• Act as a technical authority for model‑driven data products, guiding creation, validation, governance, and consumption across decision paths.
• Partner with product, engineering, and experience teams to design coherent human‑facing and machine‑facing interfaces.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise standards for model explainability, fairness, privacy, and responsible AI.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or related field.
• 5+ years experience designing, building, and deploying predictive or machine‑learning models in production.
• Strong problem‑framing skills to translate ambiguous business challenges into scalable modeling frameworks.
• Experience collaborating with engineering, product, and platform teams in large‑scale data environments.
