Principal Associate – Corporate and M&A

About the role

The firm is seeking a Principal Associate / Associate Partner to lead corporate and M&A transactions in Delhi. The role involves managing end‑to‑end deal processes, providing strategic legal advice, and supporting business development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute M&A, private equity, venture capital, joint venture, and other corporate commercial transactions.
• Provide advisory services on corporate, regulatory, and sector‑specific compliance matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and related documentation.
• Manage assignments independently, ensuring timely delivery even under tight deadlines.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of changes in Indian corporate law and jurisprudence.
• Interact confidently with clients, presenting legal analysis and recommendations.
• Contribute to knowledge management, research, and publication of internal and external articles.
• Support business development aligned with the firm’s strategic plans.

Required profile

• Five‑year law degree from a reputed university with a strong academic record (LLM/CA/CS is an advantage).
• 4–9 years of experience in corporate practice at a well‑reputed law firm.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex transactions independently.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• High integrity, honesty, and commitment to professional ethics.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Indian corporate statutes, including the Companies Act, 2013, SEBI regulations, RBI guidelines, and related legislation.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret laws, judgments, and apply them practically.
• Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
• Tech‑savvy with efficient computer usage.
