Primary School Teacher – Grade 2 Homeroom

About the role

The Grade 2 Homeroom Teacher serves as the main academic and pastoral anchor for a class of young learners, delivering the CBSE curriculum and fostering holistic development in line with the school's values.

Key responsibilities

• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment for Grade 2 students.
• Plan, prepare and deliver age‑appropriate lessons across core subjects such as English, Mathematics and Environmental Studies.
• Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, maintaining accurate attendance and performance records.
• Identify learning gaps early and provide differentiated instruction, remedial support, or referrals to learning‑support teams.
• Establish routines for discipline, hygiene, punctuality and classroom etiquette.
• Organise classroom activities, projects, celebrations and co‑curricular events, including festivals and assemblies.
• Communicate regularly with parents via diaries, meetings and PTMs regarding academic and social‑emotional development.
• Collaborate with co‑teachers, subject specialists, special educators and counsellors to support each child's well‑being.
• Maintain a safe, organised classroom and ensure student safety during transitions and school events.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, curriculum planning workshops and professional development initiatives.

Required profile

• B.Ed. or equivalent degree; Early Childhood or Elementary Education degree preferred.
• Minimum 2–5 years of primary‑level teaching experience, preferably in a CBSE‑affiliated school.
• Familiarity with CBSE curriculum guidelines, CCE and NEP 2020 foundational‑stage recommendations.
• Genuine warmth, patience and ability to build trust with children and parents.
• Strong classroom management and behaviour‑guidance skills.
