Plumbing & Fire Fighting Engineer – Airport/Metro Projects

About the role

The Plumbing & Fire Fighting Engineer will work on airport and metro infrastructure projects, designing and implementing plumbing and fire‑fighting systems in compliance with relevant codes and client requirements. This full‑time, on‑site position is based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare layout drawings, technical specifications and bills of quantities for plumbing and fire‑fighting systems.
• Coordinate design and installation activities with architects, structural engineers and contractors.
• Monitor on‑site installation, testing and commissioning, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Interact with stakeholders, respond to client queries and resolve site issues.
• Prepare progress reports and support project documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of delivery practices.

Required profile

• Strong experience in plumbing system design, sizing and layout for airport and metro projects.
• Proficiency in pipe selection, routing and installation, with knowledge of relevant materials and safety practices.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Working knowledge of fire‑fighting system design (sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, pumps) and applicable codes such as NFPA and local regulations.
• Experience in project management support, site supervision, quality control and safety compliance.
• 10–15 years of design experience in the relevant field is preferred.
