Platform Architect

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Platform Architect to lead the design and evolution of its platform infrastructure. The role focuses on high‑availability, secure, and scalable solutions that support Mastercard’s global payments ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Produce high‑level designs for platform infrastructure solutions.
• Maintain the technology roadmap for platform/Unix solutions aligned with end‑of‑support dates.
• Collaborate with delivery, engineering, and operations teams to ensure seamless implementation.
• Validate that new solutions meet performance, scalability, availability, security and manageability standards.
• Identify, assess and communicate technical risks to business and operations stakeholders.
• Evaluate and trial emerging technologies for current and future projects.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of Linux operating systems (Oracle Linux, RHEL).
• Extensive experience with virtualization technologies (OVM, KVM, OLVM) and VMware ESX.
• Proven track record delivering complex designs in high‑availability environments.
• Ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Flexibility to adopt new products, services, and ways of working.
• Understanding of how non‑functional requirements such as performance and availability are achieved.
