Plant Manager – Changodar (Ahmedabad)

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead its Changodar facility, producing raised access floor panels, understructure and related sheet‑metal components. The role combines production planning, shop‑floor leadership, quality oversight and compliance in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own daily and monthly production plans for raised floor panels, understructure and sheet‑metal components, meeting volume, mix and delivery targets.
• Run the integrated factory covering cutting, forming, welding/assembly, finishing and packing, with clear shift targets and bottleneck control.
• Ensure drawing‑to‑shop‑floor accuracy, manage revisions and prevent fabrication errors.
• Oversee sheet‑metal tooling, tool life, maintenance and new‑tool introduction in coordination with Product Development.
• Manage the powder‑coating line, controlling pre‑treatment, oven parameters, colour, film thickness and environmental compliance.
• Lead preventive and breakdown maintenance of fabrication machines, tools and the coating plant, reducing unplanned downtime.
• Collaborate with the Quality Head on in‑process checks, material control, standards and customer complaints.
• Head Production, Quality, Product Development and HR leads, set KPIs, conduct weekly reviews and manage manpower planning, training and industrial relations.

Required profile

• Strong shop‑floor command of sheet‑metal processes and finishing, with hands‑on experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams (Production, Maintenance, HR) with a safety‑first mindset.
• Comfortable communicating in Gujarati or Hindi on the shop floor and writing reports in English.
• Experience in managing a powder‑coating plant and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Required skills

• Sheet‑metal fabrication techniques: shearing, laser cutting, punching, bending, press‑brake, forming, welding and spot‑welding.
• Powder‑coating process control and equipment maintenance.
• Use of AutoCAD and SolidWorks for production planning and drawing review.
• Preventive and breakdown maintenance of fabrication machinery and tooling.
• Production planning, line balancing and basic industrial engineering concepts.
