Piping Engineer – Ship Repair

About the role

The Piping Engineer will lead planning and execution of piping works for ship repair, refit and conversion projects. The role ensures timely delivery while maintaining safety, quality and coordination across all shipyard departments.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and execute piping jobs according to the scope of work.
• Manage subcontractor manpower, monitor progress and ensure adherence to the job schedule.
• Coordinate with inter‑departments, prepare drawings, Bill of Materials and raise material/service purchase requests.
• Ensure compliance with EHS, safety and quality norms; conduct inspections, HATs and SATs.
• Prepare and present regular reports on project status and performance.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of ship systems and marine equipment.
• Competence in pipe fabrication, erection and commissioning.
• Proven experience on ship refit projects involving piping/engineering systems.
• Leadership qualities and ability to manage subcontractor teams.
• Familiarity with MS Office and ERP tools, and shipyard safety and quality standards.
