Physician Advisor – Peer to Peer

About the role

As a Physician Advisor you will partner with payor medical directors to review peer‑to‑peer cases where authorization has been denied. You will assess documentation, determine compliance with evidence‑based criteria, and provide written analyses to support appropriate authorization decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Review denied authorization cases across multiple specialties, evaluating admission status, procedures, and care setting documentation.
• Communicate findings promptly to payors and clients, offering clinical justification for approval or denial.
• Engage directly with payor medical directors to discuss case specifics and resolve utilization issues.
• Prepare detailed written analyses and case summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
• Serve as a clinical resource for medical and case‑management teams, identifying documentation gaps and recommending improvements.

Required profile

• Active, unrestricted MD or DO medical license.
• Minimum three years of clinical experience after residency completion.
• Strong clinical knowledge across multiple specialties.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, remote environment.

Required skills

• Basic computer proficiency.
