Pharmacy Support Worker – Acute & Mental Health Sites

About the role

Join a friendly, supportive pharmacy team delivering clinical pharmacy services across Gartnavel General Hospital and other North Sector sites. You will help ensure safe, effective medication supply, support ward top‑up services and contribute to reducing waste and drug expenditure.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver ward and department top‑up services, supplying medicines accurately and efficiently.
• Dispense inpatient, outpatient and clinical trial prescriptions following SOPs.
• Receive, store and manage medicines stock, maintaining accurate records and supporting stock rotation.
• Process requisitions, pick, pack and distribute medicines across wards and departments.
• Communicate with pharmacy colleagues, ward staff, patients and suppliers to resolve queries.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, cleanliness and organisation in dispensary and ward environments.
• Support audits, record keeping and compliance with medicines management legislation.

Required profile

• Good general education at National 5 or Standard Grade level.
• Highly motivated, proactive and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
