Payroll Specialist - Product Support

About the role

Paybooks, part of the TransPerfect family, is looking for a Payroll Specialist – Product Support to join its Bangalore team. The role bridges the Paybooks software and its clients, providing expert assistance on payroll and HR‑related queries.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients using the payroll software.
• Respond to client inquiries via email, phone, and chat with professionalism.
• Understand and explain product concepts, Cost to Company (CTC) calculations and payroll fundamentals.
• Stay updated on software releases, functionalities and industry best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software usage, performance and functionality.
• Document and track client issues, resolutions and feedback systematically.
• Follow up with clients to confirm issue resolution and satisfaction.
• Identify recurring problems and suggest product or process improvements.
• Participate in ongoing training and develop deep product knowledge for gap analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience working with payroll software and systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling payroll data.
• Analytical mindset to assess payroll data and spot trends or errors.
• Problem‑solving ability and capacity to work under pressure during peak periods (month‑end, quarter‑end, year‑end).

Required skills

• Proficiency with payroll software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with standard office software tools.
