Payments Manager – Merchant Acquiring

About the role

The Payments Manager – Merchant Acquiring will lead Bajaj Finance’s new QR acquiring business in Bengaluru. You will build the operation from the ground up, recruit and train a field team, and drive merchant onboarding, QR and POS/EDC deployments to generate transaction volume and gross merchandise value.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train and motivate a Field Operations Staff (FOS) team and monitor their productivity.
• Acquire merchants and drive QR, SB and POS/EDC deployments across the assigned territory.
• Develop distribution channels, map coverage, and manage relationships with key decision‑makers.
• Ensure sales targets, retailer payment reconciliation and store activation are met monthly.
• Collaborate with partners on sales promotions and maintain process rigor and controllership.
• Deliver proof‑of‑concept for QR and EDC acquiring while managing costs and productivity gains.

Required profile

• Graduation or MBA with 2‑4 years of relevant experience.
• Prior exposure to payments, FMCG or telecom prepaid sales.
• Experience handling merchant relationships directly.
• Strong communication, high energy, self‑starter attitude and willingness to work in the field.
