Patient Safety Physician – Remote

About the role

Parexel is seeking a Patient Safety (Drug Safety) Physician to work remotely and support pharmacovigilance activities across the product lifecycle. The physician will ensure patient safety by reviewing adverse event cases, providing medical guidance, and contributing to safety surveillance and signal management.

Key responsibilities

• Perform medical review of adverse event cases from spontaneous reports, clinical trials, literature, and combination products.
• Assess seriousness, expectedness, listedness, causality and overall medical relevance of safety events.
• Review narratives, medical coding, source documentation and case content for accuracy and consistency.
• Provide medical guidance to pharmacovigilance and safety operations teams during case processing.
• Support medical monitoring activities, including review of patient profiles, laboratory data, vital signs, medical history and concomitant medications.
• Contribute medical and scientific input to internal teams, clients, investigators and study personnel under supervision.
• Conduct literature reviews for product safety assessments and identification of potential safety concerns.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with board certification or equivalent qualification.
• Significant experience in pharmacovigilance, drug safety or clinical safety monitoring.
• Strong knowledge of global pharmacovigilance regulations and guidelines.
• Ability to evaluate adverse event data, determine causality and communicate findings clearly.
• Experience working in cross‑functional, global clinical development or post‑marketing environments.
