About the role
The Recycling Center Custodian works part‑time at the Shirley Recycling Center, assisting community members who drop off recyclable materials. This role ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all visitors.
Key responsibilities
- Greet and assist residents as they drop off recyclable items.
- Maintain cleanliness of the facility, including sorting areas, bins, and public spaces.
- Ensure proper handling and placement of recyclable materials according to municipal guidelines.
- Monitor safety hazards and report any issues to supervisors.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and report maintenance needs.
Required profile
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible part‑time schedule.
- Good communication skills for interacting with the public.
- Physical ability to stand, lift, and move recyclable containers.
Required skills
- Basic knowledge of recycling procedures and safety practices.
