Ophthalmologist

About the role

The Mahajan Eye Centre in Pitampura is seeking a full‑time Ophthalmologist to join its super‑speciality eye‑care team. The successful candidate will deliver comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage a wide range of ocular diseases, and perform both medical and surgical treatments.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient histories and comprehensive eye examinations.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as slit‑lamp, OCT and perimetry.
• Diagnose and manage anterior and posterior segment disorders, including cataract and other ocular conditions.
• Prescribe medications, optical aids and develop treatment plans.
• Perform cataract surgery and minor ocular procedures.
• Provide counseling to patients and families about treatment options.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary staff and supervise clinical support personnel as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to clinical protocols and quality standards.
• Participate in case discussions, continuous improvement initiatives and training activities.

Required profile

• Recognized MBBS degree and postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology (MD/MS/DNB or equivalent) with valid medical council registration.
• Proven clinical expertise in comprehensive eye examinations and management of complex ocular conditions.
• Experience performing cataract surgery and minor ocular interventions.
• Strong communication skills, compassionate patient care and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to continuing medical education and evidence‑based practice.
