Operations Supervisor – Marine Services

About the role

The Operations Supervisor will lead marine services at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) in Navi Mumbai, reporting directly to the Port Manager. The role ensures seamless vessel turnaround, compliance with QMS and HSSE standards, and supports the commercial and offshore divisions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all marine and offshore support activities, ensuring adherence to QMS, safety and environmental procedures.
• Maintain and update SOPs, documentation, and local port procedures (e.g., IGM, crew lists, customs forms).
• Coordinate with ship crews, port officials, vendors, and internal teams to resolve operational issues promptly.
• Drive revenue generation for the offshore division by developing corporate accounts and market intelligence.
• Prepare and monitor the annual budget, control costs, and manage debt collection.
• Ensure HSSE compliance, report incidents, and enforce health and safety standards across all operations.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in shipping, marine services or offshore support.
• Graduate or postgraduate qualification; PG Diploma is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to work with non‑native English speakers.
• Ability to work under pressure, make independent decisions and lead a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with port or shipping software and online platforms such as PCS, ICEGATE, DGS e‑platforms.
• Knowledge of port documentation, ISPS procedures and local regulations.
