Operations Executive

About the role

The Operations Executive reports to the Regional Coastal Co‑ordinator and is responsible for marine and liner husbandry, vessel operations and crew logistics at the JNPT location and other assigned ports. The role ensures smooth coordination with principals, maintains port information, and supports the team with timely operational preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate vessel operations and crew logistics in designated ports.
• Assist with Hapag Lloyd liner husbandry functions as required.
• Prepare monthly KPI reports and weekly intelligence reports for the Intelligence team and Country Manager – India.
• Supervise and train junior staff in accordance with Inchcape procedures.
• Ensure compliance with QMS and QHSSE standards across all operational activities.
• Maintain accurate operational and commercial data in POPDA and Optic systems.
• Complete all mandatory LMS training on schedule.
• Manage open jobs/CARs and vendor relationships promptly.
• Develop and sustain relationships with port authorities, customs and immigration.

Required profile

• Experience in marine/liner husbandry and vessel operations.
• Familiarity with local immigration, customs and port regulations.
• Ability to prepare and analyse KPI and intelligence reports.
• Experience supervising junior staff and providing training.
• Strong attention to QHSSE compliance and documentation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ONEDA system.
• Proficiency with Optic system.
• Proficiency with POPDA system.
• Knowledge of QHSSE standards and procedures.
