Operational Development Specialist – Chemistry (Pune)

About the role

As an experienced Chemist in Operational Development, you will act as the local product owner for all serial and launch‑ready products at our Pune plant, ensuring production reliability, product quality and cost awareness.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure serial production of the product portfolio with respect to construction design, formulation stability and raw‑material availability, working closely with development, production, quality and purchasing teams.
• Provide technical consultation to production, manage complaints and support application technology related to product design and chemical formulation.
• Lead industrialisation of new products in collaboration with product development teams and production units.
• Support efficiency and quality goals through product‑optimisation projects.
• Adjust formulations and construction designs within established tolerances for serial applications.
• Manage simple and complex development projects, including testing alternative raw materials and setting up experimental raw‑material batches.
• Collaborate with the product development team in Germany (Hanover) and with adjacent departments such as design, PPI, SCM, test laboratories, sales and customer technical service.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Chemistry, polymer science, process engineering or an equivalent technical field.
• Professional experience in chemistry, polymer production, polymer formulation or the textile industry.
• Experience with PVC chemistry and its applications; development and processing of PVC coating materials is a strong advantage.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Proven project‑management skills handling multiple projects efficiently.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and intercultural skills for interaction with global teams in Germany, North America and China.
