On Site Supervisor

About the role

The On‑Site Supervisor oversees daily highway construction activities, ensuring that work is performed safely, on schedule, and in line with project specifications, quality standards, and statutory regulations. The role requires close coordination with engineers, contractors, subcontractors, labour teams, and client representatives to drive successful project execution.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day highway construction tasks, including earthwork, embankment, pavement, drainage, culverts, retaining walls, and other road structures.
• Monitor compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and statutory regulations.
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, and material resources to meet daily work targets.
• Track project progress against schedules, report daily updates to the Project Manager, and identify delays with corrective recommendations.
• Enforce site safety policies, conduct toolbox talks, ensure PPE compliance, and report accidents or near‑misses promptly.
• Manage contractors, subcontractors, and labour teams to optimise utilisation of manpower and machinery.
• Monitor equipment availability and productivity, and liaise with stores and procurement for material requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising highway or road construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, technical specifications, and relevant statutory regulations.
• Ability to coordinate multiple teams and resources to achieve daily targets.
• Excellent safety awareness and ability to enforce OSHA/IS standards.
• Effective communication skills for reporting progress and collaborating with engineers and client representatives.
