Nurse Practitioner – Out of Hours (BECS)

About the role

The Borders Emergency Care Service (BECS) is seeking a motivated Nurse Practitioner to join its Out of Hours GP team. You will provide high‑quality unscheduled care across the Scottish Borders, working in a variety of settings including the Primary Care Emergency Centre, community hospitals and patients’ homes.

Key responsibilities

• Use advanced clinical judgement to assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions.
• Deliver safe, effective and compassionate care in collaboration with Out of Hours GPs and Advanced Practitioners.
• Support the Out of Hours Community Palliative Care Service.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and develop advanced practice skills.

Required profile

• Qualified Nurse Practitioner with registration to practise in the UK.
• Experience in primary‑care emergency or community settings is desirable.
• Ability to work independently in a rural, diverse environment.
• Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
