Non-Teaching Technical Positions – 14 Vacancies

About the role

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is recruiting 14 non‑teaching technical posts – Assistant Director (2), Technical Manager (4) and Technical Assistant (8) – to strengthen its digital learning infrastructure across LMS, networking, animation, game design, virtual reality/augmented reality (VR/AR) and artificial intelligence (AI) domains.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop and maintain the university’s Learning Management System and related e‑learning platforms.
• Manage network infrastructure and ensure reliable connectivity for all campuses and regional centres.
• Design and produce animation, gaming and VR/AR content for distance education programmes.
• Lead AI initiatives, including data analytics and intelligent tutoring systems.
• Supervise technical teams, coordinate with academic units and oversee project delivery at headquarters or regional centres.

Required profile

• Educational qualification: B.E./B.Tech (CS/IT) or M.Sc. (CS/IT) with minimum 55% marks from a recognized university.
• Assistant Director: minimum 10 years of relevant experience in LMS and networking.
• Technical Manager: minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the specified specialization.
• Technical Assistant: minimum 3 years of relevant experience in any of the listed specializations.

• Networking design, administration and troubleshooting.

What we offer

• Pay Scale – Technical Assistant (Level 8): Rs 9,300 – Rs 34,800 per month + Grade Pay Rs 4,800.
• Pay Scale – Technical Manager & Assistant Director (Level 10): Rs 15,600 – Rs 39,100 per month + Grade Pay Rs 5,400.
• Government job security with postings at IGNOU headquarters or any regional/ evaluation centre across India.
• Defined age limits: Assistant Director up to 48 years, Technical Manager up to 42 years, Technical Assistant up to 37 years.
