New Product Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a New Product Manufacturing Engineer to lead the introduction of complex semiconductor modules. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to develop manufacturing, test, and sourcing strategies for next‑generation products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and release new product BOMs for complex modules and product structures.
• Manage the creation and validation of Operation Method Sheets (OMS) for medium‑complexity modules.
• Perform 3D solid‑model virtual analysis, including Master Layout (MLO) and Digital Mock‑Up (DMU).
• Participate in design reviews, providing DFA, DFAe, DFTp, ITO, and operational efficiency feedback.
• Orchestrate change requests and execute change‑control processes such as NSRs, ECOs, CCB, SPSs, and ESWs.
• Document product issues, conduct Root Cause Corrective Analysis (RCCA), and lead long‑term corrective actions.

Required profile

• Demonstrates functional expertise in manufacturing engineering and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
• Understands best practices, market competition, and how manufacturing integrates with other areas.
• Acts as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues and can lead small, low‑risk projects.
• Solves complex problems using judgment based on multiple information sources.
• Impacts customer, operational, and project activities within broad guidelines.
• Communicates difficult information clearly and builds consensus.

Required skills

• Intermediate knowledge of NPME role.
• 3D solid‑model virtual analysis (MLO, DMU).
• Operation Method Sheets (OMS) development.
• Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Assembly engineering (DFAe).
• Design for Test planning (DFTp) and ITO.
• Change‑control processes (NSRs, ECOs, CCB, SPSs, ESWs).
• Root Cause Corrective Analysis (RCCA) and Long‑Term Corrective Action (LTCA).
• BOM development for new product introductions.
