New Product Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions for semiconductor and display manufacturing, is seeking a New Product Manufacturing Engineer in Bangalore. The role focuses on developing and releasing new product BOMs, supporting manufacturing, test, and sourcing strategies for medium‑complex assemblies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and release new product BOMs for medium‑complex assemblies under guidance of senior NPME.
• Create and validate Operation Method Sheets (OMS) for assemblies.
• Partner with senior NPME on 3D solid‑model virtual analysis, including Master Layout (MLO) and Digital Mock‑Up (DMU).
• Participate in design reviews, providing DFA, DFTp, ITO, and efficiency feedback to drive cost, quality, and cycle‑time goals.
• Log change requests and execute change control processes such as NSRs, ECOs, CCB, SPSs, and ESWs.
• Lead the Managed Build process for assemblies/modules and provide technical support and training to manufacturing resources and suppliers.

Required profile

• Functional knowledge of NPME role and ability to solve straightforward problems using technical judgment.
• Understanding of key business drivers and ability to impact quality of own work and that of the team.
• Ability to explain complex information clearly and provide informal guidance to new team members.

Required skills

• 3D solid‑modeling and virtual analysis (MLO, DMU).
• BOM development and management for medium‑complex assemblies.
• Engineering change management (NSR, ECO, CCB, SPS, ESW).
• Creation of Operation Method Sheets (OMS) and documentation of product issues.
