Neurology Technician – EEG & Nerve Conduction

About the role

The Neurology Technician supports the neurodiagnostic department by acquiring accurate patient histories and performing a range of neurophysiological investigations. The role involves conducting EEG recordings, nerve conduction studies, and evoked potential tests for patients across various clinical settings, including intensive care units.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain accurate patient histories, including seizure type, date of last seizure, and medication details.
• Perform and interpret routine, sleep, and electro‑cerebral silence EEG recordings.
• Conduct special EEG procedures such as neonatal recordings in the intensive care nursery.
• Carry out bedside EEG studies for critically ill patients in intensive care units.
• Perform nerve conduction studies, including motor, sensory, F‑wave, repetitive stimulation, H‑reflex, and blink reflex assessments.
• Execute evoked potential investigations, such as visual evoked potentials (VEP), brainstem auditory evoked responses (BAER), and somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEP).
