Network Development Manager – Capacity Restoration

About the role

The Capacity Restoration Team (CRT) at AWS Infrastructure Services ensures rapid recovery of backbone and border network capacity after failures or maintenance events. As a Network Development Manager you will lead a group of engineers who design, automate, and operate restoration solutions that keep Amazon’s global network running.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of 8‑12 Network Development Engineers and Network Engineers, handling hiring, coaching, performance reviews and career growth.
• Own delivery of capacity restoration products, such as automated restoration workflows, capacity dashboards, and integration features.
• Drive day‑to‑day execution, sprint planning, backlog prioritization and resource allocation.
• Maintain a sustainable on‑call rotation and ensure incident response coverage across time zones.
• Foster collaboration between the India‑based team and the Seattle CRT counterpart.

Required profile

• Proven experience in front‑line engineering management with hands‑on technical involvement.
• Strong ability to lead high‑performing teams in a fast‑paced, global environment.
• Experience managing on‑call rotations and incident response for network services.
