Money Officer (Bank Teller)

About the role

The Money Officer will manage front‑desk banking operations, ensuring prompt service delivery and efficient resolution of customer queries. The role also supports sales through product promotion, need identification and cross‑selling of banking services.

Key responsibilities

• Accept and process retail/commercial deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and CASA account transactions.
• Maintain and reconcile cash drawer in line with bank policies, ensuring accuracy and periodic check batching.
• Buy and sell currency from the vault to maintain adequate cash levels.
• Order, receive, verify and distribute cash; manage excess cash and mutilated currency handovers.
• Count, package and reconcile currency and coins as per bank standards.
• Support dual‑control procedures during cash transactions and vault operations.
• Handle teller functions related to safety deposit locker access.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of customer and bank information and direct unresolved issues to appropriate departments.
• Guide customers on digital banking options and assist in onboarding them to digital platforms.

Required profile

• Ownership and accountability for results with a customer‑centric mindset.
• Proficiency in regional language communication, both verbal and written.
• Physical fitness, mental agility and ability to handle extensive field travel and work pressure.
• Positive references, clear civil record and a track record of past employment.
