Milling In-charge

About the role

The Milling In-charge is responsible for overseeing the operation of high‑capacity milling lines, ensuring product quality, safety, and optimal equipment performance. This role combines hands‑on equipment control with preventive maintenance and continuous improvement of production processes.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor Bühler and Lark milling machinery, including roller mills, plansifters, purifiers, hammer mills, pellet mills, crumblers, counter‑flow coolers, and mixers.
• Adjust process parameters such as steam valves, feeder speeds, roller gaps, motor amperage, bearing temperatures, steam pressure, and moisture content to meet product specifications.
• Utilize Bühler’s DataNet control system to set parameters, monitor flow rates, and launch trial or production runs.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly preventive‑maintenance routines, including cleaning, belt alignment checks, wear‑tracking, lubrication, and sensor calibration.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults quickly to minimise unplanned downtime and lead overhauls of rollers, conveyors, and hammer‑mill components.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory, ensuring critical components are available to avoid production losses.
• Enforce food‑safety, environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards, including lockout/tagout procedures and 5S housekeeping.
• Track key performance indicators such as OEE, yield, waste, and maintenance compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating industrial milling equipment in a food‑processing or feed‑mill environment.
• Strong understanding of preventive‑maintenance practices and equipment calibration.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and process data.
• Commitment to safety, hygiene, and regulatory compliance.
