Microsoft Purview Data Governance Engineer (GCC Advisory)

About the role

PwC is looking for a Data Governance Engineer to lead the enablement and management of Microsoft Purview across enterprise data sources in both on‑premises and cloud environments. The role sits within the Advisory GCC team in Mumbai and focuses on securing data assets, building metadata catalogs, and supporting clients in their digital resilience journey.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the deployment and configuration of Microsoft Purview for diverse data sources.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python and CLI to interact with Purview APIs for data source registration, scan configuration, rule set creation and scheduling.
• Create and manage Purview Domains, Collections and Data Catalogs to capture metadata and track data lineage.
• Perform manual and automated registration of data sources and conduct test scans to validate metadata capture.
• Collaborate with client C‑suite stakeholders to shape data governance strategies and drive adoption.

Required profile

• Strong background in cybersecurity and data governance.
• Proven experience working with enterprise data platforms and cloud services.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to senior business leaders.
