Medical Underwriting Consultant (Hybrid, Hyderabad)

About the role

We are seeking a Medical Underwriting Consultant to join our team in Hyderabad on a hybrid basis. The role involves applying clinical expertise to support underwriting decisions, interpreting medical data, and communicating findings to both clinical and non‑clinical stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret complex medical and clinical information, including ECG and TMT reports, in a non‑patient‑facing decision‑support environment.
• Review medical documentation, diagnostic reports, laboratory data and clinical narratives to assess risk.
• Provide evidence‑based medical opinions on morbidity and mortality for underwriting purposes.
• Communicate medical assessments clearly in written and verbal formats to underwriting teams and other stakeholders.
• Work independently on complex casework while contributing to process‑improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, offering mentorship and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• MBBS degree with an active medical practice licence.
• Minimum 10 years of clinical experience, preferably in CCU or ICU settings.
• Proven ability to read and interpret ECG and TMT reports.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving capabilities.
