Medical Oncologist (Full-time)

About the role

This is a full-time, on-site Medical Oncologist role based in Raipur at BALCO Medical Centre (a unit of Vedanta Medical Research Foundation). The Medical Oncologist will evaluate and manage patients with various types and stages of cancer, performing comprehensive clinical assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and formulating evidence‑based treatment plans.

Key responsibilities

• Prescribe and monitor chemotherapy and systemic anti‑cancer therapies.
• Coordinate care with radiation oncologists and surgical specialists.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings.
• Provide ongoing follow‑up care and manage treatment‑related side effects.
• Document patient care accurately and maintain clinical records.
• Contribute to clinical protocols, quality‑improvement initiatives, and patient education.
• Collaborate with the wider healthcare team to ensure safe, ethical, and compassionate care.

Required profile

• Strong clinical expertise in medicine and oncology with ability to manage a wide range of cancer cases.
• In‑depth knowledge of cancer biology, staging, and evidence‑based treatment guidelines.
• Proficiency in radiation therapy collaboration and treatment planning.
• Postgraduate medical degree (MD/DNB or equivalent) in Medical Oncology or Internal Medicine with specialized oncology training.
• Valid medical license/registration as per regulatory requirements.
• Effective communication skills for counseling patients and families with empathy and clarity.
• Experience in hospital‑based oncology practice; involvement in clinical research or academic activities is an advantage.
• Commitment to continuous learning, clinical safety standards, and quality‑improvement participation.
