Mechanical Technician – TMT Rolling Mill

About the role

This is a full‑time, on‑site position for a Mechanical Technician in the TMT Rolling Mill located in the Rann of Kutch. The technician will carry out routine and corrective maintenance on rolling‑mill machinery, mechanical systems, and auxiliary equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect rolling‑mill equipment and identify mechanical issues.
• Troubleshoot and execute repairs on mechanical systems and auxiliary plant equipment.
• Support preventive‑maintenance schedules, including routine inspections and overhauls.
• Coordinate with production and electrical teams to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow all safety and compliance guidelines.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and contribute to continuous improvement of equipment reliability.

Required profile

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in steel plants, TMT rolling mills, or similar heavy‑manufacturing environments (preferred).
• Knowledge of mechanical fitting, alignment, bearings, hydraulics, and basic welding or fabrication.
• Ability to read technical drawings, follow maintenance procedures, and adhere to safety standards and PPE requirements.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills with willingness to work in shifts.
