Mechanical Package Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Package Engineer to lead engineering activities for a range of mechanical equipment packages used in offshore wind projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with European codes, PED, CE marking, and offshore certification standards while supporting the integration of these packages into wind turbine, substation, and foundation structures.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering of mechanical packages such as platform cranes, EOT cranes, freshwater makers, seawater intake pumps, diesel generators, compressors, pumps, piping, HVAC, and auxiliary systems.
• Develop, review, and validate technical specifications, datasheets, and design documentation.
• Coordinate with suppliers, fabricators, and certification bodies to guarantee PED and CE compliance.
• Oversee integration of mechanical packages into offshore wind structures.
• Support risk assessments, FMEA, and mechanical safety studies.
• Manage interface requirements between mechanical packages and electrical/control systems.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, and sustainability.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Experience in offshore wind and EPC projects.
• Flexibility regarding working hours and project requirements.
• Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management practices.

Required skills

• Knowledge of European standards, PED, CE marking, DNV, IEC, EN, and other offshore certification standards.
• Experience with risk assessment methodologies and FMEA.
• Quality management experience for EPCIC projects.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
