Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Shift Operations

About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will ensure the smooth operation and reliability of mechanical equipment during the assigned shift. You will handle breakdowns, perform inspections, coordinate preventive maintenance, and support production to minimise downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure proper functioning of all mechanical systems (pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, compressors, utility lines) during the shift.
• Provide immediate technical support for equipment failures or malfunctions.
• Understand and operate CNC/SPM machine mechanical functions.
• Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks according to schedule.
• Troubleshoot mechanical faults and execute quick rectifications.
• Document all maintenance and repair activities in the logbook.
• Follow and enforce safety standards and procedures.
• Conduct regular equipment checks to identify and correct safety hazards.
• Maintain shift‑wise reports on equipment status, breakdowns, repairs, and spare usage.
• Ensure proper handover to the next shift with updates on pending work.
• Suggest and implement improvements to reduce downtime and enhance machine performance.

Required profile

• Experience working on a shift in an industrial environment.
• Ability to coordinate closely with production and utility teams.
• Commitment to safety compliance and documentation.
• Willingness to participate in root‑cause analysis and continuous‑improvement activities.

Required skills

• Mechanical knowledge of CNC/SPM machines.
• Maintenance of pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, compressors, and utility lines.
• Preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance techniques.
• Troubleshooting of mechanical faults.
