Mechanical Engineer – Design & Development

About the role

Vertiv is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide design engineering support for new product development, VAVE and improvement projects in a global environment. The role involves concept design, detailed CAD modelling, and delivering complete design packages.

Key responsibilities

• Develop concept designs, NPD, and detailed 3D models using SolidWorks.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials, drawings, and change orders.
• Design and develop parts and assemblies, ensuring quality and schedule adherence.
• Work independently while following the organization’s project‑management processes.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams and report according to the communication plan.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3‑5 years of experience with SolidWorks, specifically in sheet‑metal design.
• Proven ability to handle large CAD assemblies and manage modifications.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, disciplined, and willing to learn.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (3D modelling, detailing, and assembly management).
• Sheet‑metal design and fabrication knowledge.
• Bill of Materials (BOM) generation.
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
