Mechanical Designer – Wastewater/Water (BIM)

About the role

AECOM is looking for a Mechanical Designer specialized in wastewater and water projects. The role works under general supervision and focuses on delivering BIM‑based design solutions. You will support project teams, train staff on BIM tools, and ensure high‑quality deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Provide training and technical support on the Building Information Modeling (BIM) system to design staff.
• Create and manage 3D Revit models, drawings, and BIM documents for construction and bidding.
• Collaborate with the Design Technology Manager to transition traditional BIM practices to integrated design workflows.
• Participate in mechanical coordination and clash detection using Revit models.
• Mentor local Revit leadership, develop project‑specific implementation strategies, and maintain BIM standards and templates across offices.

Required profile

• Diploma or equivalent in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
• 3–8 years of experience in the wastewater/water industry.
• Formal drafting training from a recognized institute.
• Professional registration in the home‑office country or active pursuit of registration.
