Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Assystem is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and review of mechanical equipment for water and sewage treatment facilities, including pump stations and related infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design and review mechanical equipment for pump stations, water treatment plants (WTP) and sewage treatment plants (STP).
• Prepare technical specifications, review vendor data sheets and quality assurance plans (QAP).
• Develop mechanical General Arrangement Drawings (GAD) and 3‑D drawings for equipment and piping.
• Perform cost estimation for mechanical works and conduct pipe design, stress analysis, and welding/test requirements.
• Carry out factory inspection and testing of pumps, valves, pipes and related equipment.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of relevant design experience in mechanical disciplines for water supply and sewerage projects, including pumping stations and treatment plant equipment.
• Overall professional experience of at least 15 years.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Required skills

• Mechanical equipment design and GAD preparation.
• Pipe design, stress analysis, and welding/test specification.
• Cost estimation for mechanical projects.
• 3‑D modeling and drawing production.
• Factory inspection and testing of pumps, valves and related hardware.
