Mechanical Design Engineer II

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer II to develop new and sustaining product lines at Hubbell. The role involves creating 3‑D models, detailed drawings and bills of materials while ensuring compliance with quality and cost objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Create 3D models, detailed drawings and BOMs using Autodesk Inventor and other CAD tools.
• Manage engineering change requests (ECN) through SAP and Fiori applications.
• Apply GD&T principles, conduct design reviews and collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as quality, marketing and supply chain.
• Support prototype development, testing and validation activities.
• Maintain design documentation and ensure adherence to engineering standards.
• Provide sustaining engineering support, including design updates, issue resolution and cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Continuously improve designs for manufacturability, cost and performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4‑6 years of experience in product design and development.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
