Mechanical Design Engineer – 3D Modeling & Structural Design

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical proposals for new products and structural components. The role involves applying design codes, material knowledge, and analysis tools to deliver robust solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D models using SolidWorks or UGNX.
• Prepare engineering drawings and documentation from 3D models.
• Perform design calculations and generate reports in Excel and Word.
• Apply GD&T, welding symbols, and welding processes to designs.
• Conduct basic finite element analysis using Ansys or another FEA tool.
• Develop PowerPoint presentations for technical proposals.
• Study customer documents and produce technical proposals.
• Participate in new product development, DFM, and DFA activities.
• Ensure designs comply with Trilateral, Euro Code, and other international standards.
• Design and evaluate welded, riveted, and bolted connections for structural components.
• Utilize high‑strength steel, aluminium, and composite materials in bridge and structural designs.

Required profile

• Proven experience with SolidWorks or UGNX for mechanical design.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, welding symbols, and welding processes.
• Familiarity with basic FEA tools such as Ansys.
• Ability to prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
• Understanding of international design codes (Trilateral, Euro Code).
• Experience with material selection for high‑strength steel, aluminium, and composites.
