Materials Project Manager

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Materials Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of material strategies for semiconductor manufacturing. Based in Bangalore, you will work closely with engineering, supply chain and production teams to ensure timely delivery of critical components.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.
• Perform make‑versus‑buy analysis and provide input to outsourcing decisions.
• Coordinate demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
• Lead the Materials Core Team, managing product development deliverables across buyers, planners and production control.
• Negotiate supplier pricing, delivery terms and contracts, and monitor supplier performance.
• Manage material change control, cost objectives and quality issue resolution.
• Generate and publish key process indicators and track total landed cost targets.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in materials engineering or related discipline with basic knowledge of related fields.
• Understanding of best practices in supply chain and ability to integrate with cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to act as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues and lead small, low‑risk projects.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, capable of analyzing complex information and making sound judgments.
