Materials Project Manager – Bangalore

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.
• Perform make‑versus‑buy analysis and provide input to outsourcing decisions.
• Coordinate demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
• Lead the Materials Core Team and manage product development deliverables across buyers, planners, and production control.
• Assist in supplier price and delivery negotiations and conduct supplier risk assessments.
• Manage materials change‑control process, meet cost objectives, and resolve quality issues.
• Generate and publish key process indicators and track total landed cost targets.

Required profile

• Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in materials engineering and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
• Understands best practices and how the materials function integrates with other areas of the business.
• Acts as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues and may lead small projects with manageable risks.
• Solves complex problems by analyzing multiple sources of information and exercising sound judgment.
• Impacts customer, operational, and project activities within the team and related groups.
• Communicates difficult or sensitive information effectively and works to build consensus.
