Material Planning Analyst

About the role

Caterpillar is seeking a detail‑oriented Material Planning Analyst to join its global supply chain team. The role focuses on end‑to‑end material planning, coordinating procurement, production scheduling, and delivery to ensure manufacturing requirements are met on time.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute material planning strategies to guarantee timely availability of components and raw materials.
• Collaborate with procurement, production, logistics, and customer service teams to align material flow with operational goals.
• Schedule and monitor production and delivery activities, ensuring productivity and cost‑efficiency standards.
• Coordinate internal material movements and oversee inventory transfers between warehouses and production units.
• Generate demand forecasts and manage replenishment planning to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Adjust material plans based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and capacity constraints.
• Identify and resolve supply‑chain bottlenecks, delays, or disruptions affecting schedules or deliveries.
• Maintain accurate records of material requirements, planning parameters, and inventory transactions.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance planning processes and overall supply‑chain performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with international suppliers and U.S. customers.
• Flexibility to work in shifts to accommodate time‑zone differences.
