Manufacturing Engineering Lead – Turbine Assembly

About the role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Lead to oversee turbine assembly operations, including high‑pressure, intermediate‑pressure and low‑pressure turbines, rotors, casings and diaphragms. The role combines hands‑on technical expertise with team leadership to ensure efficient, high‑quality assembly.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and monitor day‑to‑day turbine assembly activities for HP, IP, LP and rotor units.
• Allocate manpower, tools and fixtures, and ensure compliance with standard assembly sequences and approved procedures.
• Define and standardise assembly processes, checklists and SOPs; provide input for jigs, fixtures and special tooling.
• Coordinate with supply chain, design, manufacturing and QA teams to resolve technical issues and guarantee timely receipt of critical parts.
• Facilitate inspections, measurements and testing at critical stages, address NCRs and support root‑cause analysis.
• Drive lean initiatives, Kaizen and waste‑reduction projects to shorten cycle time and optimise resource usage.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience in turbine assembly, including interpretation of assembly drawings, tolerances and engineering specifications.
• Proven ability to lead a shop‑floor team, allocate resources and maintain high safety standards for heavy components and crane operations.
• Strong understanding of quality standards, NCR handling and corrective‑action processes.
