Manager, Retail Experience Engineering

About the role

Levi Strauss & Co. is looking for a Manager, Retail Experience Engineering to lead a high‑performing team that builds scalable, secure and intelligent retail solutions for global markets. The role blends deep technical expertise, retail domain knowledge and product delivery experience to drive AI‑first innovation while ensuring operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Java, middleware, data, integration and AI engineers.
• Foster a culture of ownership, continuous learning and engineering excellence.
• Define and enforce modern engineering standards, AI‑enabled development practices and technical architecture across the organization.
• Partner with product owners and business stakeholders to prioritize work, shape solutions and provide architectural guidance.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery across the software lifecycle, balancing quality, scalability, technical debt and operational readiness.
• Champion AI‑first approaches, automation and DevOps practices to accelerate delivery and reduce operating costs.
• Drive Agile, CI/CD, observability and automated testing initiatives to ensure high‑quality releases.

Required profile

• Proven engineering leadership experience in a technology‑focused or retail environment.
• Strong track record of delivering complex software products at scale.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to influence product and technology roadmaps.
• Passion for AI‑driven development and continuous improvement.
• Experience building high‑performing, cross‑functional engineering teams.
