Manager - Human Resources

About the role

The Manager – Human Resources leads the end‑to‑end people agenda for the factory workforce, covering permanent staff, apprentices, temporary workers and contract labour. Reporting to the Factory HR Head, the role ensures that hiring, onboarding, compliance and employee experience align with production needs and business continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead workforce planning, staffing and onboarding for permanent employees, apprentices and temporary staff, ensuring documentation, statutory compliance, medical checks and IT readiness.
• Drive timely vacancy closure by coordinating with hiring managers and shared service partners.
• Plan and manage contract labour deployment in partnership with Supply Chain and Production Planning, securing requisitions and availability for production schedules.
• Oversee daily shift allocation, resolve shortages in real time with operations leaders and contractors to avoid production loss.
• Own contract labour sourcing, selection, legal and medical checks, uniform/PPE provision and mandatory training compliance (NCBP, COBC, POSH, Safety, QA).
• Govern contractor ecosystem compliance with labour codes, maintain statutory documentation, manage audits and ensure correct wage, PF/ESIC/OT/LWF payments.
• Administer factory people processes including performance cycles, goal setting, mid‑year reviews, probation confirmations, PIP actions and capability building.
• Drive employee engagement, listening initiatives, grievance resolution and maintain HRIS/position data hygiene through NBS interfaces.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of HR/HRBP/IR/contract labour management experience, preferably in a manufacturing or factory environment.
• Familiarity with labour codes, contract labour compliance and factory HR operations is preferred.
